5. HIT THE DRIVER, NOT THE 3-WOOD
Sometimes the right choice is the bigger one. Fairway woods have indeed come a long way. I’d actually say that my current fairway is both bigger and longer than my driver was 20 to 30 years ago. And yet, despite the advances in fairway woods, drivers have exploded in size, making them not only bigger, but also enormously longer and more forgiving.
So, why not use one as often as you can? If you’re faced with a choice between driver and fairway wood on a tight hole, consider the bigger, more forgiving alternative. You could do more with it, such as choking down on the grip, teeing the ball lower or even making a three-quarter swing to mimic a fairway wood but still take advantage of the bigger, more forgiving head.
Speaking of which, as you can see, I use a 460cc driver so I can maximize my distance and get as much forgiveness across the clubface as possible.
Yeah, never mind that for 90% of amateurs hitting it decently off the tee is what they strive for.

This web site is actually pretty well written and illustrated considering no videos immediately pop up. But our golfers world is filled with tips is it not? You would think that the people at Golf Tips Magazine would have written in a bunch of fake “”this is great”” stuff but they have seemingly left well enough alone. But then again this note could be fake. Just another swing thought to think about at the top of your backswing.

FACT…The golf handicap average has only dropped one stroke since 1990. It remains around 19.1. There is a reason. You cannot continue to do the exact same thing and expect different results…

This seems such as the golf industry self-regulating. Truthfully, the model associated with release cycles within the equipment industry appeared destined to fall short and companies tend to be closing.
