  1. I found this very awkward. look up jeff ritter on youtube pushing the sponge into the ground. much easier to understand. My tip is to go through this exercise very very slowly as many times as it takes you to get it into your muscle memory.

  2. Excellent insight into figuring out why my head moves and my elbow flies during the downswing. I have tried numerous ways to correct these problems without realizing that what you describe is what I am doing, losing my spine angle during the transition. However, despite the excellent drills, and the constant practice I perform at the range, I still find myself lifting up and changing my spine angle. The habit that I have learned over the years doesn’t o away despite all the practice and all the insight that your article offers. I’ve even tried the golf tips that you offer and I still can’t keep my spine from raising. What is the cure other than pounding a thousand golf balls a day for the rest of my life? THanks

  3. Hi Syd, you are absolutely correct in your comments. It doesn’t matter how many times you TRY to change, it just isn’t happening. This is because your body has limitations and is only ALLOWING certain parameters to happen. Until this is rectified , NOTHING is going to change….except possibly creating MORE compensations and limitations. Have a look at Facebook Golfswing BMI for the answer to your questions, Lesley
