Four Putters To Put On Your Radar

Odyssey Red Ball Putter

Amateurs come nowhere near practicing their short game enough, yet everyone knows that lower scoring starts with putting. So why not commit to improving your green game with one of these modern putters? They’re loaded with technology and tested by some of the game’s best players.

The always-popular Spider putter’s incorporation of Blast’s motion capture sensors, according to TaylorMade, make it the company’s first totally-integrated golf sensor product in company history. The mallet-headed model comes with a SuperStroke grip pre-fitted with the Blast Motion sensor, which in turn captures every stroke and sends it to the Blast app on iPhone or Android. Spider Interactive measures key putting stroke metrics including timing (backstroke time, forward stroke time, tempo), impact stroke speed and face rotation. Users will be able to easily analyze details of their putting stroke and track progress over time with performance history and interactive graphs, along with tiered training modules and drills to help improve putting. The app also features video recording and playback so users can review and analyze their strokes. The putter is constructed the same as TaylorMade’s renowned Spider Tour putters — a 304 stainless steel frame combined with a lightweight 6061 aluminum body enabling weight to be positioned at the extremities, providing improved stability and high MOI.
